The M2C Institute (media2culture) is an interdisciplinary non-profit research institute in the area between media technology, science and culture. It is an official associated institute at the City University of Applied Sciences Bremen regulated through the Higher Education Law of the State of Bremen (BremHG). It is an independent legal body. The M2C works predominantly on European level. It´s an interdisciplinary research institute of joint technology- and humanities approaches and involved in realizing an inclusive and diverse Europe – also on local and district level. The M2C Institute works primarily in the areas of R&D, digitalisation, soft skill development, elearning, informal learning, digital culture, gamification, participation, creative support, digital media, organizational development, vocational education, and media culture. The M2C Institute runs the Digital Impact Lab Bremen, an urban lab in context of the “Social City” urban digital development strategy of the State of Bremen to support young people and locals in their aim to participate in job careers, education, entrepreneurship, digital self-expression and urban re-design.
